In a recent interview, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre was left flustered when North Carolina radio host Mark Garrison asked if President Biden has “dementia.” Jean-Pierre called the question “incredibly insulting” before hastily ending the call.
As Biden, 81, traveled to a healthcare-focused event in North Carolina with Democratic Gov. Roy Cooper and Vice President Kamala Harris, Jean-Pierre was confronted with the question of Biden’s cognitive abilities. The WBT Charlotte host asked, “Does the president have dementia?”
Jean-Pierre couldn’t believe the question, exclaiming, “That is an incredibly offensive question to ask.”

When Garrison pointed out that people do ask it, Jean-Pierre attempted to shut down the conversation, saying, “Mark, you’re taking us down this rabbit hole.”
Despite Jean-Pierre’s blustery denial, Biden himself jokingly acknowledged his age during a public event in Raleigh, stating he was “only 40 years old, times two, plus one.”
Garrison continued the interview by asking about gas and grocery prices in North Carolina and how Biden plans to win votes when people have less disposable income.
Jean-Pierre defended Biden’s record, claiming he understands the struggles of middle-class families and has taken action on gas prices and lowering the costs of essential groceries.
However, Jean-Pierre quickly ended the interview, wishing Garrison an “amazing, amazing day.” It’s unclear if any questions were cut from the tape before the seemingly abrupt end.
