In the ongoing battle between grocery giants, Costco has thrown down an irresistible gauntlet. The warehouse behemoth has introduced a Korean dish, kimbap, to its frozen food section. This move is a direct challenge to Trader Joe’s, where this seaweed-wrapped delicacy has been a consistent best-seller.

Kimbap, akin to sushi, is a fusion of rice and various other ingredients, all neatly packed in seaweed. One Reddit user, in the KoreanFood subreddit, vouched for Costco’s version, claiming it to be “pretty decent and more saucy than Trader Joe’s”. Notably, Costco’s kimbap comes complete with microwaveable instructions and is currently listed as a “new” item…
